Is there a way to get a rose bush to flower again?

My rose bush grows just fine, but no longer flowers. I need some help.

If you are getting lots of new growth but no blossoms, you may be giving the rose too much nitrogen. Get a fertilizer that has a high middle number (phosphorous) to encourage blossoming; also be sure not to get lawn fertilizer (which has lots of nitrogen) near your rose. In addition, adding bone meal to the soil can help your rose stay healthy and bloom more.

Reply:prune,prune,prune.one of the biggest mistakes that we can make is not pruning enough, if at all.prune your roses hard.down to the next bud or 5 leaves.dont take more than 1/3 of the plant at a time.with anything in the garden ,if not sure at least tip.cutting the tip of each branch will "wake" the plant up.remove any dead or damaged limbs to avoid disease and bug infestation.fertilize with a qualitty organic fertilizer and i think your roses will be fine.
Reply:i got roses that are 14 years old.... every late fall i cut them puppies off to about a foot from ground level... they come back and out do themselves every year..... *** note : I have climbers . but prune should help any :)
Reply:pruning is always a good thing and no its not to late to prune. If your in a colder climate just prune about 2-3 inches and all dead growth(and diseased growth) I cover mine when its frost or if north keep covered but with a cloth that's able to breath. Roses go dormant for winter. Spring use a good fertilizer. Scots or vigero is great. I also use bloom blast to get a good amount of roses to bloom. Spring u also need a major pruning. I trim about a third of the plant. It produces fuller and looks great. Best of luck ;)
